This tournament, which will run from 21st to 24th November, is being organized in the state-of-the-art padel court of Bennett University, Greater Noida. Organized by Padel League Private Limited (a subsidiary of PTL Sports Group) with the support of The Times Group, the event is a major milestone in the growth of padel in India. With the participation of top Indian talent as well as international athletes from Spain, Japan, Netherlands, France, Italy and Iran, the event promises to be an exciting display of skill and sportsmanship.
The second day witnessed intense matches which kept the fans on the edge of their seats. On Center Court, the Spanish pair of Sergi Guimet Bigas and Joel Oliveira Palaos performed brilliantly against Italy’s Andrea Masoero and Giulio Lorenzin, winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-2. Another highlight were Pol Alsina and Edu Altimeres Rosas (Spain), who beat India’s Famaz Shanavas and Austin Varghese 6-0, 6-0 with a clinical performance. Meanwhile, the pair of Mohit Dahiya and Marc Berniles Garcia (Spain) grabbed the headlines on Court 2 with an emphatic 6-0, 6-0 straight sets win against the Sood brothers.
Adding to the action, Chaitanya Shah and Vikram Shah (India) made a thrilling comeback on Court 1, defeating Islam Ghunaim (Bahrain) and Mohammed Elzayat (Egypt) 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in three sets . Aryan Goves and Rahul Motwani (India) showed their dominance with a decisive 6-0, 6-2 win over Digvijay Pratap Singh (India) and Miguel Vega Martin (Spain). On the same court, Arjun Uppal and Rishi Kapoor (Ind) kept their cool in a thrilling encounter and defeated Rahul Belwal and Manresh Malhotra (Ind) 7-5, 7-5.
Concluding the day, Arthur Hugonnec and Thomas Seuux (France) delivered a masterclass against Shashank Narde and Aditya Bakshi (India) and registered an emphatic 6-0, 6-0 win. The day’s matches not only showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship, but also set the stage for more interesting action at the FIP Promotions India Paddle Open.
Day three promises even more excitement, with the women’s matches starting at 8am IST. The five women’s teams include nine Indian athletes. Anise Santamaría Landa (Spain), Aitana Solan Domenech (Spain), Sharmada Balu, Tulsi Mehta and Vaibhavi Deshmukh are among the players to watch out for.
